Nella Dodds recorded 6 singles for the US Wand Label between '64 and '66, and can be creditted for releasing the first version of 'Come See About Me', covered by the Supremes and made a No 1 for them. This track comes from an unreleased LP at the time which saw the light of day many years later on a CD compilation. Bettye Lavette has a higher profile, having recorded critically acclaimed singles and albums as recently as 2005.
