The Honey Bees were an all-girl vocal group from Detroit consisting of two sisters, Barbara Ann and Juanita, plus their friend Mary Lucas. They recorded this one in '67 as a promo for the Texas-based label Garrison. It didnt get a full-blown release. Juanita had earlier recorded 'Baby Boy' for Detroit's 'Golden World' lasbel in '64. Another Garrison release can be found on the B Side, less well-known than their classic much-sampled instrumental 'Sliced Tomatoes', this one features the vocals of their leaders, the Bryant Brothers, and moves !
