Better-known as an actor than a singer, particularly in the States where she has picked up Emmy nominations for her roles in US Sitcoms, she started early, appearing on US TV at the age of 10 in 1958. It was as a result of her popularity on TV that she got her recording contract and in 1962 she took this teen ballad to No 1 on the US Hot 100, it peaked at 41 UK.
