They started as a straight pop group but by '64 they had devloped this comedic routine of taking popular songs of the day and 'manipulating' the lyrics to reflect a news topic of the day, obviously influenced by similar recordings made years earlier by US vocal act the Four Preps. This was their first UK chart entry peaking at No 3 in '64.
