This is the 1977 Reissue of his 1965 No 1 smash hit. A much-recorded song which began life in 1953 when band leader Artie Glenn wrote it for his son Darryl who took it to No 1 in the States soon after. There was a raft of covers , most notably doowoppers the Orioles who also had a hit with the song that year. Even Ella Fitzgerald recorded a version, along with Little Richard, Johnny Burnette, the Platters and much later Bob Marley. Elvis's version was cut in late 1960 but didnt get a release until 1965 when it reached No 1 in the UK.
