Shirley Ellis enjoyed chart success during the earlier part of the sixties with a succession of novelty dance records. She recorded 'Soul Time' in '66. Its a perennial favourite and floorfiller. Lynne Randell's 'Stranger' first appeared as a B Side to 'Ciao Baby' which was also played on the Northern scene, chiefly at the Highland Room at Blackpool Mecca. A Liverpudlian by birth , her family emigrated to Australia when she was 5 years old.
