Along with Frank Wilson, Dobie Gray and Gloria Jones, perhaps one of the best-known Northern Soul anthems. Originally written by jazz-vocalist and civil rights activist Oscar Brown in '63, Wilson gave it a more uptempo treatment and was rewarded with a minor hit in '66. It went on to become a firm favourite and has remained so since. The B Side of this reissue features a Mordern Soul classic which actually went all the way to No 1 in the States on release in '75.
