Jackie had already recorded under the name Earl Nelson, and formed one-half of Bob and Earl of 'Harlem Shuffle' fame, before, in 1966 he recorded 'The Duck' and turned it into a Top 20 US Chart Hit. The beat made it perfect for the UK Northern dancefloor tastes and it remained an evergreen on that scene. The Eugene Church track hails from 1958, and is a popular R'n'B shuffler of the period.
