When 'Northern Soul' first came into the wider public recognition in the early to mid 70's, the established 'major' record companies tried to find ways they could commercially exploit the growing underground scene. These attempts were largely unsuccessful but a band called Wigans Ovation was spawned and for a while had some chart success covering Northern favourites, 'Skiing' was one of them. Here we have the original 1966 version coupled with another of the groups favourites,' Whats Wrong..' heard many times at Manchester's Twisted Wheel in the late 60's.
