Two of the more unlikely acts to be well-received on the Northern scene. Derek and Ray were actually jazz pianists, Derek Smith having been responsible for several light classical and soundtrack recordings. Their random 1967 recording became a big Northern instrumental. This reissue puts it back to back with another RCA 1967 rarity, produced by Jack Ashford. Not truly Soul as we know it, but its got that beat !
