Fast forward two years and a Pittsburgh DJ by the name of Mad Mike Metro picked up on it and got response at his live gigs, leading to frenzied bootlegging activity in the Pittsburgh area. James eventually sold the masters to Roulette Records in New York in 1ate '66 and it became a US No 1. It made No 38 in the UK.
