Generally considered to be pioneers of the 'girl-group' sound in the States, the A Side 'Maybe' is considered a milestone in the genre and holds the distinction of being only the second US Top 20 entry by an Afro-American girl group (the first was the Bobbettes 'Mr Lee') 'Maybe' sold a million and achieved a Gold Disc in 1958. On this reissue it is coupled with another of their A Sides which was less successful chartwise when released in '59.
