Reached No 1 twice in the US, the only record to have done so in the 50's/60's era. Here in the UK, it did little in terms of chart action on its original release in 1960. It took the later 'Lets Twist Again' in '61 to kick off the 'Twist' dance craze, and 'The Twist' made it to 14 in its slipstream. Its actually a cover of late 50's RnB hit by Hank Ballard.
